<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film exhibiting excellent mold releasability by compounding an organic resin. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film is comprised of 99.9-95.0 mass% of a thermoplastic polyester resin and 0.1-5.0 mass% of polymethylpentene and/or a maleimide copolymer, and has a void ratio of at most 2.8% and a center line average roughness (SRa) of the film surface of 0.10-0.50 μm.
