<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a recessed groove capable of efficiently removing swarf generated in making the recessed groove out of a workpiece and also reducing a machining cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of forming the recessed groove for forming a recessed groove on a surface of the workpiece W includes a recessed groove forming step of forming the recessed groove and a swarf removing step of removing the swarf deposited on the surface of the workpiece W by spraying the air to the workpiece W from upward after the recessed groove forming step.
