<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight hot wire cutter with a simple structure capable of readily cutting a foamed resin molding in a desired size. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The hot wire cutter 1 includes a horizontal table 3, a vertical table 4, a hot wire vertically stretching mechanism 5 vertically stretching a hot wire 7 above the horizontal table 3, a hot wire horizontally stretching mechanism 6 horizontally stretching a hot wire 8 above the horizontal table 3, and a trestle. When vertically cutting an object to be cut, the vertical hot wire 7 is stretched by the hot wire vertically stretching mechanism 5. When horizontally cutting the object to be cut, the horizontal hot wire 8 is stretched by the hot wire horizontally stretching mechanism 6. Accordingly when cutting the object to be cut by moving the object to be cut on the horizontal table 3 along the vertical table 4, the object to be cut can be cut in a most stable posture by appropriately selecting a direction for supporting the hot wire either from a vertical direction or a horizontal direction in accordance with a shape of the object to be cut.
