<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passage detecting apparatus having a simple configuration, capable of detecting a passing object at higher accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The passage detection apparatus 100 includes, an imaging unit 5 for detecting the object passing through a pathway formed between a pair of bodies facing each other, being disposed on the one of the pair of the bodies and for photographing an image of a predetermined range of the pathway; and a first illumination unit 1 for irradiating a beam light, being disposed thereabove with an elevation angle so as to have a different light axis from the light axis of the image taking unit 5. Second illumination units 2 for irradiating light to the image taking unit 5 is provided, with each of the plurality of which are disposed at the pathway side of the other body which is different from the body where the image taking unit 5 is disposed. The height of bright spots are detected, based on the coordinate of the bright spots illuminated by the first illumination unit 1 in the image taken by the image taking unit 5, and the presence or the absence of the passing object in the pathway is detected based on the coordinate of the light irradiated by the second illumination units 2 in the image photographed by the imaging unit 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
