<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frictional transmission belt capable of preventing the early occurrence of core wire popping-out by improving the tear resistance and bending crack resistance of an adhesive rubber layer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The frictional transmission belt includes the adhesive rubber layer 3 with core wires 2 embedded. The adhesive rubber layer 3 is formed of a rubber composition containing ethylene-α-olefin elastomer, 2-20 pts.mass of novolac-type thermosetting phenol resin to 100 pts.mass of ethylene-α-olefin elastomer, and a curing agent.
