<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine system achieving efficient operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This system includes: a water jacket 11; and an engine cooling system 16 having a radiator 12 and cooling system water passages 13, 14; and a first water pump 17. An exhaust heat recovery device 20, and a heat accumulation system 28 communicating the exhaust heat recovery device 20 with the engine cooling system 16 and having heat accumulation system water passages 22, 23 along which a heat accumulation tank 21 is disposed, are provided. A second water pump 33 pressure-feeding to forcibly circulate cooling water in the heat accumulation system 28, and a selector valve 34, are provided. Switching between a communication state of communicating the engine cooling system 16 with the heat accumulation system 28, and a communication shutoff state shutting off the communication, is performed through an operation control of the selector valve 34.
