PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for electric double layer capacitor that can increase capacitance and also reduce internal resistance more than a conventional electrode for electric double layer capacitor. SOLUTION: The electrode for electric double layer capacitor contains an electrode material containing active carbon activated with alkali metal hydroxide, active carbon activated with steam, and a binder, the binder being a polymer containing no fluorine.
