PURPOSE: A solid imaging apparatus for controlling the reduction of a saturation charge value is provided to prevent blooming phenomenon without overflow after closing a mechanical shutter in exposure period. CONSTITUTION: A pixel array unit(22) includes an overflow path. The pixel array unit converts the light which is selectively incident through a mechanical shutter into light. The pixel array unit accumulates the charge to an accumulating unit. The pixel array unit discards the charge exceeds the saturated charge amount of the accumulating unit. The driver drives the accumulating unit to a closing direction of the overflow path in signal reading period.
