<p>A work holding and transfer device has a base (10) placed below a first conveyance line so that the base (10) can transfer work between the first conveyance line and a second conveyance line and can lift up and hold the work in order to apply predetermined processing to the work; a holding unit (20) vertically movably placed on the base and capable of holding the work; a transfer unit (30) vertically movably placed on the base and capable of transferring the work; and a vertical movement drive unit (40) placed on the base and vertically moving each of the holding unit and the transfer unit such that the unit extends and retracts at a predetermined timing relative to the first conveyance line. The construction enables a processing area and a common transfer area to be arranged in one area. In the processing area, predetermined processing is applied to the work, and in the common transfer area, the work is transferred from the first conveyance line to the second conveyance line and vice versa. The construction simplifies a facility, reduces the space for installing the work holding and transfer device, and improves productivity.</p> |
