PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rewritable printer which can avoid collision of communication from a plurality of RFID tags to a reader/writer, correctly detect the number of the RFID tags, and easily determine whether or not a heat-sensitive recording medium from a second sheet onward among heat-sensitive recording mediums in the double feeding status is normally processed.

SOLUTION: A control part 9 determines whether or not a RFID tag Ma attached to a heat-sensitive recording medium M in the detection range is in the double feeding status based on the number of RFID tags Ma which have shifted from a ready status (a response able status) to a standby status (a communication holding status) concerning communication status in an intercommunication with a reader/writer 7. When determined that it is in the double feeding status, the number of the detected RFID tags (double feeding information) is recorded by a recording unit 4.
