HEAT INSULATING MONOLITHIC REFRACTORY AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating monolithic refractory which suppresses the propagation and growth of crack occurring in use at from a room temperature to a high temperature of ≥1,000°C without using granular or cotton-like ceramic fiber or using porous insulating aggregate and can be used for a long period of time without being exfoliated.

SOLUTION: The heat insulating monolithic refractory is obtained by preparing refractory slurry obtained by kneading a refractory composition comprising 60-90 mass% refractory fine powder having ≤300 μm particle diameter and 10-40 mass% binder, a foaming agent and a kneading liquid having 5-220 mPa s viscosity in an amount of 25-40 pts.mass per 100 pts.mass refractory composition, jetting air into the refractory slurry in an amount of 0.3-1.2 L per 1 L refractory slurry and stirring. A construction body is formed having 70-85% apparent porosity and a pore diameter distribution in which cumulative 80% diameter is ≤500 μm.
