SOLUTION: A left eye image subsampling part 101 generates a subsampling left eye image 11 according to a subsampling direction control signal 106 indicating which of horizontal, vertical and oblique a direction on a spatial plane for performing subsampling is and a left eye image subsampling phase control signal 107 indicating whether or not to subsample a pixel at the prescribed position of a left eye image 10. A right eye image subsampling part 102 generates a subsampling right eye image 21 according to subsampling direction control information 106 and a right eye image subsampling phase control signal 107 indicating whether or not to subsample a pixel at the prescribed position of a right eye image 20, similarly to the left eye image subsampling part 101.
