<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type water heater capable of effectively utilizing heat quantity produced by a heat pump unit in hot water supply, and stably supplying hot water in a heating-up operation. <P>SOLUTION: This storage type water heater includes a hot water storage tank 1, the heat pump unit 2 having a function for heating the water in the hot water storage tank 1, a return pipe 3 for returning the water heated by the heat pump unit 2 to an upper section of the hot water storage tank 1, a bypass pipe 4 for returning the water heated by the heat pump unit 2 to a section excluding the upper section, of the hot water storage tank 1, and a three-way valve 5 for switching the destination of the water heated by the heat pump unit 2 to the return pipe 3 and the bypass pipe 4. In the heating-up operation for heating the water in the hot water storage tank 1 by the heat pump unit 2 and returning the same to the hot water storage tank 1, the three-way valve 5 is switched from the bypass pipe 4 to the return pipe 3 on the basis of a result of the comparison of hot water supply load of the hot water storage tank 1 and a temperature of the water heated by the heat pump unit 2, when the hot water is supplied from the hot water storage tank 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
