摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a step in torque when operating conditions are changed in a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine in which resonance supercharging and inertia supercharging are switched according to the operating conditions. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This intake control device of an internal combustion engine includes two cylinder groups, a collector tank 4 with volume chambers 4L, 4R for respective cylinder groups and a throttle valve 5, a branch pipe 20 for connecting each volume chamber and each cylinder, a collector opening/closing valve 21 for opening and closing a communication hole 23 which allows the volume chambers 4L, 4R to communicate with each other, a branch pipe length switching means 22 for switching the lengths of the branch pipe between the volume chambers 4L, 4R and the cylinder, and an opening/closing control means 25 for controlling the opening and closing of the collector opening/closing valve 21 and the branch pipe length switching valve 22. When the internal combustion engine is transferred at least from a high-load, high-rotation area to a low-load, low-rotation area, the intake control device is changed from a first state in which the collector opening/closing valve 21 and the branch pipe length switching valve 22 are opened to a third state in which the collector opening/closing valve 21 and the branch pipe length switching valve 22 are closed via a second state in which the collector opening/closing valve 21 is closed and the branch pipe length switching valve 22 is opened.
