PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water chamber for a heat exchanger, capable of alleviating the limitation of an arrangement space and reducing installation costs when a cleaning device for cooling capillaries in the shell-and-tube type heat exchanger is installed. SOLUTION: The water chamber for the heat exchanger including the plurality of cooling capillaries 6 where cooling water is made to flow and a body 1 which stores the plurality of cooling capillaries 6 and where a cooled medium is made to flow includes: an outlet water chamber 5 connected to the body 1 on the outlet side of the plurality of cooling capillaries 6; and a ball collecting device 14 provided within the outlet water chamber 5.
