PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economically rational chabazite-type zeolite which is expected to exert practical characteristics for use as a carrier for catalysts or a support for adsorbents and to exhibit high durability and heat resistance. SOLUTION: The chabazite-type zeolite having an SiO<SB>2</SB>/Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>molar ratio of 15 to 50 and a mean particle diameter of 1.5μm or larger exhibits high durability and heat resistance. Such a chabazite-type zeolite can be produced by subjecting a raw material composition having molar ratios of a structure-directing agent and water to SiO<SB>2</SB>which satisfy respectively the relationships: 0.05≤structure-directing agent/SiO<SB>2</SB><0.13 and 5≤H<SB>2</SB>O/SiO<SB>2</SB><30 to crystallization in the presence of ions of at least one kind of alkali metal selected from a group consisting of K, Rb and Cs.
