PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel having excellent display performance at low cost. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel has a front face plate provided with a plurality of scanning electrodes 5 and sustaining electrodes 6 arranged in a row direction on both sides of an electric discharge gap provided between them; a rear face plate arranged to face the front face plate with an electric discharge space provided in between; and barrier ribs 13 partitioning the electric discharge space for every electric discharge cell. The scanning electrode 5 and the sustaining electrode 6 have first portions facing through the electric discharge gap, second portions arranged in parallel with spaces from the first portions, and third portions that connect the first portions to the second portions. Dummy electrode patterns 19 wider than the scanning electrode 5 and sustaining electrode 6 are formed in non-display regions at an upper part and a lower part in the row direction of the front face plate. The dummy electrode patterns 19 are formed to exist in positions to coincide with the barrier ribs 13 in the row direction at boundaries between a display region and the non-display regions.
