摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balance shaft gear structure for reducing not only the gear rattle but also the gear meshing noise. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The balance shaft gear structure includes a scissors gear 10. The scissors gear 10 includes a main gear 14 joined to a balance shaft 12, a sub gear 18 having the same form and number of teeth as the main gear 14 and located adjacent to the main gear 14 in the axial direction for meshing with a driving gear 16 of a crank shaft together with the main gear 14, a scissors spring 20 for energizing the main gear 14 and the sub gear 18 in the opposite rotating directions, and a gap interval adjusting mechanism 40 for restricting the movement amount between the main gear 14 and the sub gear 18 against the energizing force of the scissors spring 20 to adjust gap intervals between the teeth of each of the main gear 14 and the sub gear 18 and the teeth of the driving gear 16.
