The present invention relates to an umbrella type parachute and particularly to an umbrella type emergency parachute, wherein parachute ribs supporting the canopy are allowed to be folded in 2 steps or 3 steps or more so that the parachute ribs, canopy and parachute strings may be stored in a small size during storage, and the parachute ribs have the structure to enable to be folded or extended, so that a sufficient lift force may be provided to the canopy immediately following fall; configured with a fixed type canopy that opens the canopy prior to fall and an extended type canopy that is folded at the end terminal of the fixed type canopy and bound by the canopy opening device and that opens up upon release of the parachute holder by the lift force of the fixed type canopy during fall and tension of the parachute strings generated by the weight of the jumper; and a device that adjusts the length of the parachute strings is added that automatically winds the length of the parachute string when not falling and releases it automatically when falling. |
