PURPOSE: A wavelength independent optical transceiver and an optical communication system including the same are provided to control optical output of a laser diode in consideration of loss of an optical line and a distance between an optical transceiver and an external light source due to a connection condition, thereby stably keeping optical output and extinction ratio. CONSTITUTION: A transmission light is wavelength-locked in an external input light. An mPD(monitor Photo Diode)(222) outputs a monitor current through conversion of the transmission light. According to intensity of the external input light, a transmission light controller(224) determines a control current of a laser light source. A light source driving unit(226) automatically control signal intensity according to the control current. |
