<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the frequency of a second clock can not uniquely be found when a first clock and information on a ratio to the clock are received according to a predetermined transmission standard, and the second clock used on a transmission side is reproduced on a receiver. <P>SOLUTION: A prescaler 22 frequency-divides an output clock of a voltage-controlled oscillator 20 at a given frequency division ratio. A phase comparator 14 compares a reference clock generated based upon the first clock and first ratio information received from the transmission side with a feedback clock generated based upon an output clock of the prescaler 22 and second ratio information received from the transmission side, and supplies a control signal for canceling their error to the voltage-controlled oscillator 20. A search circuit 66 varies the frequency division ratio of the prescaler 22 when an oscillation frequency of the voltage-controlled oscillator 20 is still not locked even a given period later to search for a frequency division ratio at which the oscillation frequency is locked. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
