A polymer comprising the repeating units derived from an aromatic compound having a specific structure and a repeating unit derived from the compound represented by formula (1):
wherein Ar 1 to Ar 4 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 40 ring-forming carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group having 3 to 40 ring-forming atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 50 carbon atoms; X is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 40 ring-forming carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group having 3 to 40 ring-forming atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted di- to tetravalent styrene-derived group; and s is an integer of 0 to 3. The polymer is useful as a light emission material and realizes a polymer electroluminescence device excellent in device characteristics such as lifetime and emission efficiency.
