The plurality of particles are broken fragments of a lyophilic starting material having at least one pore open to an exterior of the starting material and defined by an interior surface of the starting material, wherein the exterior and interior surfaces of the lyophilic starting material comprise a coating that is lyophobic with respect to the carrier fluid. |
