A tin alloy, in which the nib portion of a ball-point pen is die-cast, contains not less than 50 per cent and preferably more than 75 per cent tin alloyed with a hardening metal or metals. Suitable alloys for die-casting comprise 84 per cent tin and 16 per cent antimony, or 89 per cent tin, 9 per cent antimony, and 2 per cent cadmium. |
