PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for automatically loading radioactive waste drum on a transport container at a remote is provided to increase the accuracy of a loading position by automating a drum loading process and preventing the shaking of a drum while moving. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for automatically loading radioactive waste drum on a transport container at a remote comprises a drum feed port(10), a carrier(20), a placing part(40), a crane. The drum feed port comprises a plurality of conveyor modules and a turn-table. A plurality of conveyor modules transfers a drum(5) containing radioactive waste. The turn-table rotates the drum transferred to the conveyor module. The carrier successively loads the drum transferred through the drum feed port. A carrier cover is set on a placing part when the drum is loaded. The crane is composed of a tong and a lifting unit. The tong grips the carrier cover and transfers it.
