PURPOSE: An evaporator for an ice maker and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to eliminate a welding process from the manufacturing step of each part and to manufacture an evaporator with a strong coupling structure. CONSTITUTION: An evaporator for an ice maker comprises a top plate(110), a bottom plate(120), an ice-making protrusion(130), and a guide barrier(140). The top plate includes a first groove of a predetermined shape. The bottom plate comprises a flat portion corresponding to the flat portion of the top plate and a second groove corresponding to the first groove and forms a refrigerant circulating passage. A hole is formed at a given position of the flat portion of the bottom plate. The ice-making protrusion is pressed into the hole of the bottom plate. The top of the ice-making protrusion hangs on the hole, and the bottom of the ice-making protrusion forms the floor portion and is extended downwardly from the bottom plate. The top of the guide barrier forms a blocking portion(142) blocking the circulation of refrigerant across the refrigerant circulating passage. The bottom of the guide barrier is inserted into the ice-making protrusion, divides the space of the ice-making protrusion and forms a barrier portion(144). A supporting part(141) is formed between the blocking portion and the barrier portion which is bent at a right angle. An extension part(143) which makes integral contact with the inner surface of the top plate is formed on the top of the blocking portion.
