PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition for relieving skin irritation containing Phaseolus radiatus fermentation-enzyme extract is provided to suppress biosynthesis of IL-1 alpha and to improve skin trouble. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for relieving skin irritation contains 0.0001-30.0%(w/w) of Phaseolus radiates fermentation-enzyme extract as an active ingredient. The extract is obtained by culturing Phaseolus radiates using Saccharomyces cerevisiae and decomposing the fermented liquid using proteinase. The proteinase is pepsin, trypsin, carboxypeptidase, aminopeptidase, or dipeptidase.
