PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus and a control method of the same for easily separating the front end of a recording medium are provided to easily separate the recording medium by applying power to a driving roller. CONSTITUTION: A transfer belt(113) transfers a recording medium. An image is transferred by a transfer device. A roller unit revolves around the transfer belt. A power supply unit(140) supplies power to the roller unit. A control unit(150) controls the power supply unit in order to control the supplied power for the roller unit. The control unit supplies the power with a polarity the same as the transfer power polar.
