PURPOSE: A system and a method for setting widget in a mobile terminal is provided to use setting information received from a widget server, thereby conveniently changing the location of a first widget set on a display screen and the arrangement location in widget icon area of a first widget icon corresponding to the first widget. CONSTITUTION: A server connector(201) receives a notification message from a message server connected to a widget server according to a setting which setting condition is set in the widget server and connects to the widget server which is identified by the notification message. An information receiver(202) receives information setting related to the set setting condition form the widget server. A widget manager(203) set widget on a display screen based on the setting information.
