A shock absorbing device for the back of a chair is provided to improve the efficiency of work by forming the shock absorbing member and the seat back into one body. A shock absorbing device for the back of a chair comprises a shock absorbing member(100) which is injection-molded into one body in the seat back to absorb the impact applied to the seat back. The shock absorbing member comprises: a space(110) penetrated into the seat back; a pair of shock absorbing pieces(120) which are protruded to face the seat back to be positioned inside the space; and a fixed body(130) including a screwnut to make an anchoring bolt coupled while being connected to a pair of the shock absorbing pieces.
