PURPOSE: A package for a light emitting device and a light emitting diode are provided to prevent the deterioration of a light reflector due to oxidation or chemical reaction by covering the light reflector with ceramic. CONSTITUTION: A base substrate(2) is made of ceramics. A frame body(3) is arranged on the upper surface of a base substrate and includes a cavity(3a) for receiving the light emitting device. A light reflector(4) is buried in the base substrate to be positioned under the cavity and is made of metal. The part of ceramic of the base substrate is interposed between a light reflective surface(42) of the light reflector and the upper surface of the base substrate.
