An ocular device or system provides predetermined off-axis aberrations to deliver at least one predetermined stimulus in the peripheral field to an eye whilst predictably controlling the forward-backward positions of the off-axis points on the peripheral field relative to the on-axis focal points on the central field to produce at least one substantially corrective stimulus for altering eye growth by repositioning peripheral, off-axis, focal points relative to the central, on-axis or axial focal point while maintaining the positioning of the central, on-axis focal point on the retina with a predetermined on-axis prescriptive strength. The device will be used to provide continuous, useful clear visual images, maintaining substantial axial alignment with the eye, while simultaneously retarding or abating the progression of myopia or hypermetropia.
