The device (5) has a hollow rotor (8) carrying, on its external peripheral surface, arms (10) arranged for picking collected wastes so as to ensure transfer of the wastes from a collected position to a distributed position during rotation of the rotor. A mounting unit mounts the rotor above a pitch point of a supplying conveyor (1) of a wastes sorting installation. The arms are connected to the rotor by an elastic coupling unit i.e. spring (11). An independent claim is also included for a waters sorting installation comprising a transferring conveyor for transferring wastes.
