The invention relates to new products hexakis- and heptakis- and octakis[bis(carboxymethyl)amino]-a- and -&bgr;- and -γ-cyclodextrin, their multimetal complexes and specifically the water soluble complexes with Gadolinium(I&Igr;&Igr;) for use as contrast agents in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, due to remarkably enhanced relaxivity values measured in a magnetic field.
