The device (1) has two sets of on flow elements (6), where one set of on flow elements i.e. containers, is arranged in a row and forms a load section, when the on flow elements are immersed into a flowing medium. The containers consist of a flexible material and/or stiff material. Another set of on flow elements forms a return section or empty section running above a medium surface and is led forwards and backwards via deflection elements. An operation is performed at the deflection elements. A floatingly anchorable device comprises float bodies. An independent claim is also included for a method for obtaining electrical current from a flowing medium.
