The method involves determining a real temperature of specific ammunition by conducting the temperature measurement on a measurement model (20), where the model is subjected to storage and handling conditions similar to that of the ammunition. The temperature measurement is carried out by temperature sensors (25) in the measurement model and the sensors communicate the measured real temperature value to a calculator (40) that determines firing parameters by using receivers (30), receiving antenna (31) and cables (32). The measurement is communicated to a microprocessor (26) in the model. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining firing parameters of embarked or non-embarked heavy weapon system such as tank, armored car, artillery and howitzer, comprising a calculator.
