A respiratory treatment apparatus includes a flow generator and a humidifier to receive a supply of positive pressure air from the flow generator and deliver humidified air to an air delivery tube. The humidifier includes a base 602, a humidifier lid 648 that is connectable to the air delivery tube, and a water tank 698 which also has a lid 700. The water tank is removably receivable in the base so that air can flow from the flow generator into the interior of the tank via a first air flow path. The humidifier lid can be sealed to the water tank lid by sealing gasket 699 so that humidified air can flow via a second flow path from the interior of the tank to the air delivery tube.
