PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a conjugated diene polymer having a high cis 1, 4-structure content by means of a highly active catalyst which is relatively easy to handle. SOLUTION: The polymerization catalyst for conjugated diene includes (A) an yttrium compound, (B) an ionic compound comprising a non-coordinating anion and cation, and (C) an organic aluminum compound. In the method for producing the catalyst, components (A) and (C) are firstly mixed and aged at <50°C for 5-300 minutes, then component (B) is added thereto. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
