PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition that can sufficiently abrade a seal lip on sliding at an initial stage of rotation to sufficiently lower a rotation torque and can assure sufficient sealability. SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises 100 pts.mass of a rubber component, 50-200 pts.mass of a first compounding component including one or more selected from the group consisting of calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide, and barium sulfate, and > 0 pt.mass and ≤50 pts.mass of a second compounding component including either or both of carbon black and silica.
