PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an advantageous technology for detecting and/or controlling a position of an object moving at high speed. SOLUTION: A controller for generating a driving instruction for controlling driving of the object, while detecting an object position based on two periodic signals having each different phase provided from an encoder, includes a counter for counting either period between the two periodic signals; and an operation part for detecting the object position based on an arc tangent value of a ratio between each value of the two periodic signals and on a count value provided from the counter, and generating the driving instruction based on the position. The operation part corrects an error of the count value based on an acceleration of the object calculated based on the arc tangent value and the count value, and on the driving instruction generated in the past, and calculates the object position based on the corrected count value.
