PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder and a recording method which can suppress the occurrence of the disorder of a recorded image and the stain of a recording medium without reducing a recording rate more than necessary by a recording operation according to the form of the overlap of the recording medium recorded continuously. SOLUTION: There are acquired ink amount information discharged to a unit region of a preceding recording medium and the size information of a following recording medium. Based on the ink amount information on the unit region determined according to the size information among a plurality of the unit regions, a delay time for delaying the recording operation is set during the recording operation to the following recording medium.
