<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leak of remaining image information left on an ink ribbon when printed by a thermal head. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The processing device includes a cartridge attachment part 5 for removably attaching a tape cartridge 10 with the ink ribbon R finished, a ribbon rewinding means 63 which rewinds the ink ribbon R from a ribbon take-up core 24 to a ribbon let-off core 22 by engaging with the ribbon let-off core 22 of the tape cartridge 10, a printing head 65 which processes the remaining image information of the ink ribbon to be impossible to be read while facing to a travel course of the ink ribbon R being rewound, and a platen 12 which is removably attached to the cartridge attachment part 5 and receives the thermal transfer of the ink by the printing head 65.
