<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element which has a simple structure, of which the number of parts can be lessened and the weight is decreased as a whole and moreover, the number of processes for manufacture can be lessened. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A filter medium sheet is made like pleats to form a filtration part 12 having a plurality of pleated parts 12a. A crushed part 14 is formed in a middle position of the pleated parts 12a in the width direction. The filter medium sheet is of a nonwoven fabric of a thermoplastic resin.
