PURPOSE: A composition containing fermented garlic extract for suppressing growth of harmful bacteria having antibiotics resistance is provided to ensure excellent antibacterial effect. CONSTITUTION: A novel microorganism Pediococcus pentosaceus L5(KACC 91419P) has an ability of suppressing growth of harmful bacteria having antibiotics resistance. A fermented garlic extract is obtained by fermenting the novel microorganism with culture medium. A composition for suppressing growth of harmful bacteria having antibiotics resistance contains the fermented garlic extract or concentrate, dry, or mixture thereof as an active ingredient. The composition is used in the form of beverage, feed, food, medicinal product, or cosmetic product.
