GAS GENERATOR FOR VEHICLE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and weight of the entire gas generator by eliminating the need for a filter for cooling and filtering flue gas.

SOLUTION: A porous member 80 and a gas collision member are axially overlapped and disposed in an upper part of a combustion chamber. The gas generated in the combustion chamber is subjected to repetitive collision against wall surfaces on the way and attached and held thereto in the process in which the gas is passed through the porous member 80 and the collision member and finally discharged from a gas discharge port. Therefore, most combustion residues are removed.
