<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece, capable of avoiding electric discharging of an electricity storage means from substantial advance, even in a state in which electric power generation has not been performed for a long period and timing data from being lost immediately, even if down time of power generation has continue for some period. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic timepiece is provided with a secondary battery and an auxiliary capacitor for storing electric power supplied from a power generating means and supplying power supply for a timing means. The electronic timepiece is provided with a power supply change-over means, capable of connecting or cutting off the secondary battery as a power supply of the timing means. After the charge level of the secondary battery has lowered to a level requiring charging (transition points Q, R), the power supply from the secondary battery to the timing means has deteriorated in down time, to bring about a state in which the power supply from the auxiliary capacitor to the timing means is performed, until it is determined that the charge level of the secondary battery has recovered to a normal mid level (transition point X). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
