PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new constitution which can be applied to either of an electric shutter device and a manual shutter, and which can achieve the function of locking the lift of a shutter curtain in a fully-closed state on an outdoor side and the function of braking the shutter curtain at the contact of the shutter curtain with an obstacle during the descent of the shutter curtain, without applying special working to a guide rail. SOLUTION: This lock mechanism 10 of the shutter device includes: a baseboard member (downside baseboard 7) which is arranged in the lowermost portion of the shutter curtain 4; a lock member 11 which has frictional surfaces 12a and 13a facing the inner wall surfaces 8a and 8a of the guide rail 8; and an operating member 16 which acts on the lock member 11 so as to bring the frictional surfaces 12a and 13a into pressure contact with the inner wall surfaces 8a and 8a, when the baseboard member (downside baseboard 7) is moved upward.
