PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which is provided with a freely detachably holding part integrated with a brush and has improved convenience. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: a suction port body 5 communicating with an electric blower 2 and provided with a suction inlet facing a floor surface; a portable portion 31 having a holding portion 8 provided so as to alternatively select the state of being moved integrally with the suction port body 5 and the state of being moved independently of the suction port body 5 and provided with an air flow path 31b in the inside; brush holding portions 41 and 51 freely turnably connected to the portable portion 31 and formed with openings 41b and 51b formed at the front end and communicating with the air flow path 31b; brushes 40 and 50 disposed around the openings 41b and 51b; and storage portions 6a and 4f for storing the brush holding portions 41 and 51. The brush holding portions 41 and 51 are turned between a storage position to be disposed when stored inside the storage portions 6a and 4f and a cleaning position inclined to the storage position when taken out from the storage portions 6a and 4f, and resilient members 42 and 52 for urging the brush holding portions 41 and 51 in the direction of the storage position or the cleaning position are provided.
