Provided are a wireless communication apparatus and a wireless communication method wherein even if data is retransmitted to a station on the other end of communication from any read start position, the code word bit placement can close in the same QAM symbol, and the CoRe processing can be used to obtain a gain. The wireless communication apparatus comprises: a control unit that decides control information to be used for transmitting the data to the station on the other end of communication; a circular buffer for storing the data; a coding unit that codes the data and writes and reads the coded data into and from the buffer; a modulating unit that modulates, based on the control information, the coded data by use of a predetermined modulation constellation; and a transmitting unit that transmits the modulated data to the station on the other end of communication. The coding unit performs a padding of the data in accordance with a coded block size and displaces the read start position of the buffer in accordance with the number of padding bits during the coding of the data.
