<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of repairing a glass substrate to flatten the glass substrate by filling a depression on the glass substrate surface with a photocurable resin, while controlling the deformation caused by a volume shrinkage after curing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of repairing the glass substrate flattens the surface 2 of the glass substrate 1 by filling depression 3 on the surface 2 of the glass substrate 1 with a photocurable resin 4. The method comprises a filling step to fill the depression 3 with an uncured photocurable resin 4 in a way that it rises above the surface 2 of the glass substrate 1, a covering step to cover the photocurable resin 4 with light transmitting film 5 in a way that it pushes the rising photocurable resin 4 into the depression 3, and a photocuring step to slowly expose and cure the photocurable resin 4 from one edge 31 of the depression 3 toward the other edge 32 thereof on the opposite side.
